Ian Hacking
Ian Hacking (* 1936 in Vancouver) ist ein kanadischer Wissenschaftstheoretiker und Sprachphilosoph.
Nach dem Studium in British Coulumbia (mit B.A. Abschluss 1956) sowie in Cambridge (mit B.A. Abschluss 1958) in Cambridge promovierte er auch im Jahre 1962, war er seit 1982 Professor an der Universität Toronto. Im Jahre 2001 wurde er auf den Lehrstuhl für Philosophie und Geschichte von wissenschaftlichen Konzepten an dem Collège de France. Seine Schwerpunkte liegen in den Gebieten Wissenschaftstheorie, Sprachphilosophie, Philosophie der Mathematik, philosophische Fragen über Psychopathologie. Er ist ein Vertreter des Entitätsrealismus.
