Rosina Bulwer-Lytton
Rosina Bulwer-Lytton (* 4. November 1802 in Ballywire, Irland; † 12. März 1882 in Upper Sydenham, London), englische Romanschriftstellerin und Feministin, Tochter Francis Wheelers zu Limerick, Ehefrau des Schriftstellers Edward Bulwer-Lytton, "her trampler and her tyrant" (Blighted Life, 1866). Wurde, da sie offen gegen ihren Mann opponierte, von diesem während seines Wahlkampfs 1858 in einer Nervenheilanstalt untergebracht; später geschieden. Schrieb außerordentlich erfolgreiche Romane, in denen sie sich gegen ihre aufgezwungene Rolle als viktorianische Ehefrau zur Wehr setzte und sich über bedeutende männliche Zeitgenossen, v.a. auch ihren Mann, lächerlich machte.
