Sesotho

Sesotho (auch Südliches Sotho, Suto, Suthu, Souto, Sisutho) ist eine Bantusprache und gehört zur Niger-Kongo Sprachfamilie. Sie wird von ca. 1,5 Millionen Menschen in Lesotho und von ca. 2,7 Millionen Menschen in Südafrika gesprochen. Sie gliedert sich in zwei Dialekte: Taung und Phuthi.

Sesotho ist eine offizielle Amtssprache in:

• Südafrika

Der Language Code ist st (nach ISO 639-1) bzw. sot (nach ISO 639-2). SIL-Code ist SSO.
